Our Specialty is Medical Transcription

Please note:  We do not outsource offshore.  All transcription is typed locally, which ensures accuracy as well as protection of your patients’ personal information. 

Many of our transcriptionists have worked within the medical field as nurses, medical assistants, radiology technicians, etc. and have a wide range of first-hand knowledge with medical terminology and procedures.  We have an extremely thorough selection process when hiring, so be assured that you will be assigned an educated and dedicated team of transcriptionists, and your team will become familiar with your preferences, tendencies, and accent.

HIPAA

The Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which was set in place to ensure confidentiality and security of health information, is taken very seriously at the APTS offices.  All transcriptionists are instructed regarding the standards and importance of HIPAA and the confidentiality of the patients’ information as well as each client's information.  We feel that all information that is entrusted to us should be protected.  We ensure password protection, time-out with secure log-in at work stations, use of 128-bit encryption with electronic mail transfer should you prefer any documents be e-mailed, and transport of physical documents within locked bags as needed. 

Equipment/Dictation Options

Currently we offer phone-in dictation, hand-held digital recorders, or formulation of scribe sheets.  Please contact us if you prefer another method, and we will be glad to discuss possibly arranging it for you.

If you prefer to not dictate but use "scribe sheets" or check-in/flow sheets while examining your patients, we can work with you to develop guidelines for typing progress notes, etc. 

Delivery Options

We offer a variety of ways that you may receive your final product.

• Delivery of original print by courier. (If you are within our delivery area.  Please contact us for more information.)
• Delivery of original print by mail. (If outside our delivery area.)
• Delivery by FTP (file transfer protocol).
• Delivery by encrypted email.
• Delivery by fax.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Options regarding EMR include sending documents to you via FTP (file transfer protocol), and/or in some cases we can actually work within your system.

Turnaround

In most cases turnaround is one to two business days, and STAT request turnaround time is within an hour (depending upon the length of dictation/transcription needs).

Price

Generally pricing is based per line.  We do not charge extra for special characters, i.e. bolding, italics, underlining, and we do not charge per keystroke.
